We rolled out nationwide screenings in major cities to tiny rural towns, bringing the challenges of farming today to the big screen, as well as some inspiring ways young farmers are addressing them. They went against the grain, putting diversity at the centre of Andy’s farming system, made some incredible flour, got bakers on board to use it, convinced a lot of arable farmers to go nature-based so they could make more flour, and eventually partnered with Waitrose (one of the top UK supermarkets) to sell a regenerative bread. Early in their journey, I was along for the ride supporting on media relations and comms. Andy since came out to New Zealand on tour with Groove Armada and we took the opportunity to get more people thinking about where their bread/grains come from. Getting more people interested in regenerative farming, and excited about what farmers were doing on the ground for biodiversity and nutrition, was my mission. I helped curate some of the talks around food, health and social justice, as well as the food experiences.
